Description: 

Job Title: Systems Analyst

Status: Full-Time

Location: Owen Sound, Ontario

Working in a small team environment with other IT technology members to research, design, develop, implement, document and maintain in-house and external software installations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing, coding, testing, documenting of new and existing internal solutions
  • Developing and testing stored procedures and queries in T-SQL (SQL Server)
  • Implementing and maintaining custom solutions provided by outside providers
  • Providing application/system support as required
  • Maintaining small Oracle deployment
  • Provide paid on-call support one weekend per month

Requirements: 

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • College or University diploma or degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of VB.NET or C#
  • Strong knowledge of database design and queries with SQL Server, T-SQL
  • Knowledge configuring and managing Windows 10 in a network environment
  • Experience with computer hardware, scanning technology, and thin clients
  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed and able to work on multiple concurrent work streams
  • Commitment to and belief in the quality of your deliverables
  • Above average troubleshooting skills

Additional Skills/Abilities Considered an Asset:

  • Familiarity supporting/maintaining Oracle 10g
  • Clipper programming in DOS environment including DBF file structures
  • Familiarity working with servers in a virtual environment
  • Familiarity with various architectures and protocols (REST, XML, JSON, SOAP)
  • Familiarity with Active Reports reporting solutions
  • Experience with IIS Web Server
  • Knowledge in the Microsoft Suite of Applications (Word, Excel)
