  • Performs routine duties in cleaning and servicing of guest rooms and baths under supervision of the Housekeeping Manager
  • Room attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, honest, friendly and should also able to address guest requests and problems.


  • Wipe down and dry/shine showers, mirrors and sinks in common areas, washrooms, hotel rooms and cottages
  • Hand dust and high dust with extendable duster in common areas, washrooms, hotel rooms and cottages
  • Hand wash, squeegee windows in common areas, washrooms, hotel rooms and cottages
  • Hand wash small bathroom floors, replace toilet paper and paper towels
  • Clean and dry coffee makers, drinking glasses and ashtrays in hotel rooms and cottages
  • In hotel rooms and cottages, bag drinking glasses in sanitary bags, replenish coffee condiments, change bedding and periodically turn and flip mattresses
  • Place towels and personal amenities in hotel rooms and cottages
  • Vacuum and edge any floor area or steps as required in entire resort
  • Clean and maintain good working order of vacuum cleaners (not including motorized or mechanical maintenance)
  • Mop floors and clean in any common or storage area as required
  • Cleaning of lights and ceiling fans where located (including hotel rooms and cottages)
  • Wash walls and ceilings in all areas with hand held wall washer as required
  • Shampoo and spot carpets in all areas as required
  • Required to move furniture as required (light objects only)
  • Required to carry, load and fold linen onto carts, shelves, ect
  • Sweeping and de-webbing of patios and decks as required or directed by supervisors
  • Reporting of maintenance needs to supervisors/managers
  • Some seasonal decorating as required (eg, Christmas decorations)
  • Packing and returning of empty beer bottles, collected from guest rooms
  • Transporting of dirty linen and garbage to the designated drop areas
  • Cleaning of the pool and jacuzzi edges (from outside edge)
  • Stock supply areas from the master supply room ( boxes of soap, Kleenex, toilet paper, shampoo, garbage bags, coffee, ect)
  • Washing and folding of laundry as needed (primarily blankets, bed spreads, mattress pads, rags, ect)
  • Required to drive golf carts in outside areas for transportation to rooms
  • Assist with guest requests; may be required to assist with luggage
  • Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment adhering to the legislation set out by Occupational Health and Safety
  • Perform daily visual workplace inspections
  • Attend safety talks, and staff meetings
  • Participate in the accident/incident investigation program
  • Conducts self with regard for safety of employees; is aware of safety and evacuation procedures
  • Assist with the training of new employees
  • Report to supervisor/manager any health and safety violations
  • Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Assist with other related duties, as required
  • As an Oakwood employee, responsible for the ongoing general appearance of the Resort property. This entails allocating found garbage in the appropriate areas.
