This internship has a start date of mid-May and ends in mid-late August 2024.

Feedback from military personnel is invaluable for the improvement of our current equipment and future product development. Over the past year customer feedback on our helmets has resulted in improvement efforts happening this summer. The HF Intern will help to plan, organize and conduct human assessments with helmets, testing various aspects of comfort, stability and interoperability, reporting and presenting findings to the Design & Engineering Teams and retesting as required. The HF Intern will also be involved in measuring head anthropometry, learning how to size and fit a helmet, conducting research and performing other tasks as required.

Requirements: 

About the role - you'll need to:

  • Plan and conduct human assessments of military protective head gear including helmets HUDs, NVGs, protective eyewear and communications headsets Report and present findings to the Design and Engineering Teams
  • Learn how to measure head anthropometry to size helmets
  • Learn how to fit, adjust and evaluate the fit of helmets
  • Conduct research and perform other tasks as required

​About you - you'll need:

  • 2 or 3 years of undergraduate education in the field of biomechanics, ergonomics, industrial engineering, human factors or a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and time management are key
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications is essential, specifically the Intern is expected to be comfortable processing and graphing data in Excel, and organizing this in PowerPoint to share with the Design & Engineering Teams
  • Ability to work independently AND an enthusiastic team player
