  • Under the supervision of the Community Development Coordinator 2 Student Positions are available to assist in the planning and implementation of recreational programming in public housing communities
  • Programming may include daily arts, crafts, games and sports activities
  • The successful candidate for these positions will be part of a team providing on-site programming
  • The programs aim to entertain, educate, motivate and promote a sense of community


  • Act as an appropriate role model for children and youth
  • Provide a safe and rich environment for children to grow
  • Assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities
  • Attend all weekly team meetings
  • Liaise with tenant groups to organize community activities if necessary
  • Ensure the community center and properties are safe, secure and adequately maintained
  • Maintain daily records of attendance
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Experience working with children and youth
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to relate to a diverse population of citizens and residents
  • Ability to adapt programs according to the needs of the community
  • Must produce a Vulnerable Population Screening Police Record Check
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions
  • Must be a Post-Secondary Student returning to school in September 2019
