Schofields Bistro is seeking an experienced Chef to join the team. Schofields Bistro is a successful fine dining establishment located on the Main Street in Port Dover, steps from the Lighthouse Festival Theatre. Skill Requirements:
- Team player
- demonstrated reliability with experience in busy restaurant kitchen environments
Education/ Credentials:
- Completion of high school
- Safe Food Handling certificate
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
- Minimum 6 months experience in similar position
- Speak English, Read English, Write English
Specific Skills:
- Preparation and cooking meals, specialty foods including dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Preparation, garnishing and presentation of food and in new cooking techniques
- Ensure quality of food and portion control
- Preparation of grilled meats, seafood and fish dishes. Kitchen cleaning, washing dishes, kitchen prep
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
- Fast-paced environment
- Work under pressure, tight deadlines
- Handling heavy loads, physically demanding
- Attention to detail
- Standing for extended periods
- Bending, crouching, kneeling
- Own transportation, Own vehicle, Public transportation is not available
- Culinary: 1 year (preferred)
- Cook: 1 year (preferred)
