Description: 
  • Assist Site Superintendent on maintaining a clean and safe worksite
  • Read and understand construction drawings and be able to build to drawings and specifications
  • Responsible for safe use of equipment including forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lifts, and power tools
  • General carpentry duties such as layout, measuring, cutting, erecting, and joining materials together
  • Interior systems duties such as acoustic ceilings, access flooring, metal framing, wall partitions, and modular systems
  • Door and hardware installation, floor coverings, material handling, equipment operation
  • Ability to properly seal and flash building elements in accordance with manufacturer specifications without deficiencies
  • Proficient knowledge of concrete formwork and falsework, reinforcing, placing, and finishing
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: physically demanding, handling heavy loads (up to 50lbs), bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for extended periods, working at elevations, working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Assist in coordination of warranty work for completed projects
  • Safety oriented with the ability and willingness to carry out tasks in line with safety compliance requirements
  • Foster positive communications and relationships with clients and subtrades
  • Other assigned tasks from the site superintendent or project manager as needed
Requirements: 
  • Appropriate level of carpentry and construction experience
  • Previous experience in ICI, retail, low-rise residential and/or commercial construction an asset
  • Valid G class driver’s license and reliable travel to field sites
  • Own and maintain basic trade tools and equipment
  • Ability to conduct yourself in a personable manner to build client relationships and foster team working environments
